Newsflash: November 2010
Life Clubs has recently worked alongside a team from Central and North West London Mental Health Foundation Trust (CNWL) in the development of a new primary care mental health service for people in Kensington and Chelsea. The service will offer early intervention for people with mild to moderate mental health problems including depression and anxiety.
Community psychiatric nurses trained by Life Clubs will offer group coaching to patients as part of their recovery programme in consultation with psychiatrists and psychologists from the Trust. The aim will be to support people to return to full functioning, including employment, and to encourage improved self esteem, confidence and autonomy.
This is a novel collaboration bringing a coaching approach to more traditional mental health services. CNWL Mental Health Foundation Trust is one of the largest specialist mental health trusts in the country with 3,300 staff over more than 100 sites, it works with over 1500 adults in the Royal London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, providing community, in-patient and specialist services. The trust has a track record of innovation in new service development and this programme won funding through a competitive bidding process.
